About 90% of all wineries and vineyards in California are not California Sustainable. We hold the distinction of being among only about 9% of wineries to receive this certification.
San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Medals
The largest wine competition in North America, and we stand out as having the highest number of quality wines than any other winery in all of North America. This event is not a pay to play event, so judges are basing the award solely on the merit of the wines themselves!

The only winery in Placer County to feature a restaurant that is open 7 days a week. We feature breathtaking views of the vineyards situated on rolling hills. It’s reminiscent of a vista from Tuscany, Italy- you’d swear you were there! Our masterful chef creates unique, mouth watering plates keeping you wanting to return for more.

Since our first vintage was released in 2009, Wise Villa has been a family owned and operated winery, estate vineyard, and Tuscan-style Gourmet Restaurant located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills Wine Appellation of Placer County.
Our grapes are meticulously grown using organic and sustainable practices. During harvest we go a step further by triple sorting and implementing whole berry cold fermentation to retain a balanced wine with natural fresh fruit character.

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is the largest wine competition in the United States. Wise Villa Winery is the most awarded winery in North America having entered no multiple vintage year wines and no same-wine multiple-vineyard entrees. No games.

The Golden State Winery Award is the highest and most prestigious winery award that can be given by the California State Fair. Our wines had the highest number of high scores, outranking competing wineries in all regions in California, including Napa and Sonoma. Wise Villa Winery’s owner & winemaker Dr. Grover Lee took a small group of wine lovers to some of the most beautiful vineyards, wineries, hotels, and exquisite dining places in France. After spending a few days in Paris, the tour continued to Burgundy, then boarded a river cruise to explore the Rhone Valley.
